Abbey Meadows Shops Car Park Re-surfaced at Last

The car park behind the Abbey Meadows shops has been in an appalling condition for many years. Investigation showed that there was contradictory evidence about whether the car park was adopted by the Highways Authority. Lib Dem County Councillor Joan Tebbutt pressed for a solution and it was finally agreed that the car park will be treated as adopted. Joan therefore agreed to use her small schemes funding to resurface the car park to adoption standard and the work has now been carried out.

Making this car park more usable should help to relieve some of the congestion around the school drop-off and pick-up times. However, Joan is asking that all drivers who use the car park to drive considerately past St Christopher's House, as vulnerable residents already experience safety issues when crossing the road.
